Illness -- Yours or Mine

Sick Clients

This is my biggest pet peeve, so I am putting it first!

If you have come down with a communicable disease (a cold, flu, “stomach bug,” etc.), PLEASE DO NOT COME IN.  Let me know as early as you can, preferably prior to the 48-hour cancellation window, if possible, so that I have time to try to fill your appointment slot (and to avoid that 50% cancellation fee).

Signs of communicability include, but are not limited to:

Fever/chills
Diarrhea
Vomiting/nausea
Body aches
Sore throat
Stuffy/runny nose
Sneezing/coughing
Rash of unknown origin (including Poison Ivy)

PLEASE remember that not only do I work with immunocompromised individuals in my practice,  but my place of business is also within the home of many senior adults,  most of whom also have fragile immune systems.

DO NOT COME FOR A MASSAGE IF THERE IS ANY CHANCE THAT YOU COULD GET THESE PEOPLE SICK!

One sneeze or cough from your minor head cold could cause great complications for them. Likewise, if I get sick from your cold, then I will have to lose out on the income for however many days it takes for me to not be contagious anymore, costing my family a great deal more than missing out on the single massage that you did not come get because you respected my policy. Thank you for respecting the need of this sole proprietor to adequately support her family and take care of Avanti's awesome residents.

Additionally, getting a massage when you’re in the throes of a cold or flu can make  you feel even worse. If you have heard that massage can help you get  over a cold or flu faster, please do not test that hypothesis out with me. It is not worth getting the precious, fragile people who make up the  bulk of my clientele sick.

I am a reasonable business owner; if you are sick, please just let me know as soon as possible, and we can proceed from there. Any client who shows up for their appointment displaying obvious signs of illness (and I am an experienced mom so I KNOW sickness!) will be asked to leave and will be charged the full price of their session.

If I am Sick

If I find myself ill, I will provide to you the same courtesy I request of you, in letting you know as far in advance as possible (hopefully  prior to my 48-hour  cancellation window, discussed below).

If I must cancel your appointment due to my own illness, I will honor my own 50% cancellation fee for your next session. See “If I Need to Cancel or Change an Appointment” on the “Cancellation/Change Requests” page.
